Somatic Therapy for Trauma and Stress Recovery

Somatic therapy focuses on the mind-body connection, helping to regulate your nervous system and release the effects of trauma or stress stored in the body. Using techniques from Somatic Experiencing® (SE) and based on Polyvagal Theory, I guide you through gentle, body-focused processes that bring relief and build resilience.
What is Somatic Experiencing?
Somatic Experiencing® (SE) is a gentle, body-focused approach to healing trauma and chronic stress. It works by helping you tune into your body’s sensations and learn to regulate your nervous system. Trauma and stress can become “stuck” in the body, leading to feelings of anxiety, overwhelm, or even physical symptoms like tension or pain.
Using SE, we work together to process these experiences safely, allowing your body to release what it no longer needs and return to a state of balance. This approach is based on Polyvagal Theory and incorporates the SIBAM framework (Sensation, Imagery, Behaviour, Affect, Meaning) to address both emotional and physical well-being.
